The Studio Bike Pro is the top-of-the-line model in the series, with a greater incline and decline capacity than the base model and an upgraded HD touchscreen display. It's a great choice for those who want that on road feel without spending $2000+ on an indoor cycle.
The Studio Pro has a 10” smart HD touchscreen display. It shows an array of workout data including speed, time, distance, calories burned, and heart rate. It is also web enabled and allows you to browse the internet as you work out.
Let's take a look at some of the specs...
The biggest selling point of the Studio Pro is its incline/decline capacity. At 20%, it is even steeper than the entry level Studio Bike, which has a 15% incline/decline capacity. It is an upgrade of the previous version of this bike, the ProForm TDF 5.0.
It is similar to cycling up and down a steep slope and is a terrific workout. You will be able to burn more calories at a much faster rate, tone the muscles in your lower body, and develop tremendous cardiovascular endurance.
The iFit Coach Plus membership, for which you have to pay separately, gives you access to a number of interactive features that can make your workouts more interesting and also help you stay motivated until you reach your fitness goals.
The Google Maps Street View feature lets you choose any biking trail from anywhere in the world. Once you do, the bike adjusts its incline and decline automatically to simulate the terrain of the trail you choose. You can also watch the landscape on the touchscreen display in high definition, which is pretty awesome.
The Studio Pro’s 10” touchscreen display is a big step-up from the basic LED display that the Studio Bike has. You can access all the important workout stats at the touch of a button. It is also web enabled, so you can watch the news, catch up with your friends on social media, check your email, watch your favorite videos, and do lots more.
You can also watch LiveCast classes on the touchscreen, which is yet another benefit of the iFit membership. These classes allow you to learn from the best minds in the fitness training industry. It is like having a virtual gym membership. You also get a wearable iFit device with the membership, which helps you monitor your heart rate and track your fitness progress.
The console definitely deserves a mention here. You can pivot it any way you want, thanks to the innovative SmartSwivel design. It comes loaded with 24 Tour de France workout programs. You can choose any program you want to get a glimpse of what it is like to participate in a race. Depending on the program you choose, the bike adjusts the incline and decline settings automatically. The console also has a built-in cooling fan, MP3 port with dual speakers, and a tablet holder.
You can adjust the seat and the handlebars vertically as well as horizontally. So, irrespective of your height or body type, you can find your perfect fit and work out comfortably.
You can use the dumbbells for upper body workouts. Thanks to the SmartSwivel console, you do not have to worry about not being able to watch the LiveCast classes or your favorite videos and movies while working out with the dumbbells. You can simply turn the console in your direction and continue with those hammer curls.
The Studio Pro has a wireless heart rate receiver, but you have to buy the strap separately. It would have been nice if the wireless chest strap had been included in the package, but it is certainly not a deal-breaker.
The Studio Pro is definitely an improvement on the entry level model, with a steeper incline/decline capacity and a smart HD touchscreen display.
The iFit membership offers a barrage of features to make your workout sessions more productive and interesting. The bike is sturdily built and comes with solid warranty.
On the whole, the Studio Pro is an excellent bike from ProForm and there is nothing much to complain about.
