The Buzz

Like all indoor cycles, the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike is designed to provide the feel of an outdoor riding experience in the comfort of your own home. TRUE Fitness takes that to the next level with commercial-grade materials for durability and a range of features that maximize comfort.

The BELT Direct Drive System and flywheel axle provide a smooth, comfortable ride that lets you get the most out of your workout.

Changing resistance is easy with the smooth precision resistance control knob located just below the handlebars for convenience. You can easily increase or decrease the tension with a simple twist of the knob and there’s even a built-in safety feature with the emergency safety stop, accessible at any moment by pushing down on the resistance knob.

Comfort is key for any workout and the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike doesn’t skimp here. The generous road style cycling saddle is mounted on a universal seat post that allows for both horizontal and vertical adjustment to accommodate any riding style. The non-slip handlebars feature multiple grip points to accommodate various riding styles and can also be adjusted horizontally or vertically.

Despite its sturdy design, the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike is still easy to move using the two front mounted transport wheels.  Two leveling feet help to stabilize it on any surface to ensure safety.

There’s a lot to like about this bike and its price under $1,500 makes it pretty affordable for a mid-range model. TRUE Fitness regularly has special offers that can help to reduce the cost even more.

Is the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike Worth Buying?

The TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike is on a par with other similarly priced models but it doesn’t offer as many bells and whistles, which might leave you wondering if it is really worth buying.

What it lacks in terms of electronics it more than makes up for with the durability of its construction and the comfort features that allow for maximum adjustability. There’s a lot to be said for getting a good, comfortable ride since that can help you to keep your focus and get the most out of your workout.

The easy resistance adjustment is another feature that makes this bike stand out. With a simple twist of the conveniently located resistance knob you increase or decrease intensity without losing concentration and in case you need it there’s also a built-in emergency safety stop feature.

If you don’t mind giving up the whole immersive workout experience provided by some other brands, then the comfortable, durable and easy to use TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike is definitely an attractive alternative.

How Does The TRUE Indoor Cycling Bike Stand Up To The Competition?

With so many indoor cycling bikes on the market now it’s worth considering how the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike stands up to the offerings from names like Life Fitness, Peloton, NordicTrack, ProForm and Matrix.

One of the most obvious differences is that TRUE Fitness only offers a single Indoor Cycling model, while some other brands including Life Fitness and NordicTrack feature several different models at a variety of price levels from $999 and up.

Both NordicTrack and ProForm offer 22” HD touchscreen displays with an iFit membership to provide a fully immersive workout experience.  The Matrix Cycle ICR50 actually offers three different display options, including no console, which most closely mirrors the more basic setup of the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling bike.

Of course Peloton has made a name for itself with its own app, which provides classes and professional level trainers. Peloton has two indoor cycling models available, which feature either a 21.5” or 23.8” HD touchscreen, and their Bike+ also allows you to rotate the screen 360 degrees so that you can participate in their off-bike yoga and strength classes.

While the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike doesn’t provide an immersive experience, it does offer good, sturdy construction that is built to last and is backed by TRUE’s exceptional warranties. It also provides plenty of adjustability of both the seat and handlebars to accommodate any riding style and make for one of the most comfortable rides on the market today.

Our Take on the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike

While it may seem pretty basic at first glance, there is plenty to recommend the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike and make it well worth the $1,000 + price tag.

We appreciated the comfortable 18” step through height, which makes for easy mounting by riders of all fitness levels. We also loved the variety of adjustments possible with both the seat and handlebars so you can have a comfortable ride throughout your workout.

The easily accessible resistance adjustment knob with built-in emergency safety stop was also a stand out feature.  Coupled with the Belt Direct Drive System, it made for a very smooth ride without disruptions as you changed intensity levels.

Of course the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike also carries through on TRUE’s reputation for durability, quality and integrity. The use of commercial-grade materials guarantees long life and the warranty helps to back that up so you can rest assured you’re covered for any eventuality.

There’s no denying the quality of TRUE Fitness equipment and the TRUE Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike is no exception. We found the price pretty competitive and TRUE also regularly includes special offers that make it even more affordable. If you’re in the market for a good, solid ride with all the feel of road cycling, then this model is definitely worth the investment.
