The Buzz

UPDATE:  As of 2016, the R2250 model is no longer available.  Check out the new Vision Fitness exercise bikes for comparable ones to choose from.

The resistance system on the Vision R2250 is called the ECB-Plus™ magnetic brake. It uses a series of seven magnets on a motor controlled bracket that pivots around the optimally weighted 24-lb flywheel. Backed by a lifetime warranty, this ultra-smooth friction-free system has no wear parts for maximum durability. Other quality parts of this semi-recumbent bike include premium sealed roller bearings, and the large Quiet-Glide™ drive system that uses an eight-ribbed Poly-V Belt allowing for a longer lifespan and virtually no noise.

The 150-lb frame has a step through design for easy mounting, and the Comfort Arc™ mesh seat has an adjustable tilting seatback for lumbar support as well as body-contoured foam and free range of motion.

When you create your own Vision, you can pick from one of three consoles: the Simple Console has 7 programs and 16 levels of resistance; the Deluxe Console (recommended) has 8 programs, 20 levels of resistance, a scrolling message center, and contact/telemetric HR monitoring; and the Premier Console has a full color LCD screen, 22 programs including Vision’s SPRINT 8® option, a USB port, and more.

Our Take

The award-winning Vision R2250 semi-recumbent bike has received numerous honors, including being named the Best Recumbent in 2007 in both Consumers Digest and Health Magazine, continuing a tradition that started with the R2200 which received top honors many times between 1995 to the mid-2000s.

Since Vision wants you to have the features you desire, you can order it with the Simple Console and save $200 (for just $1,599) or get the Premier Console (at $1,999). For ultra-comfort and the best value, we recommend the Vision R2250 with the Deluxe Console, a Best Buy at $1,799.
