The Buzz

UPDATE:  Johnson Health & Fitness has discontinued the LiveStrong brand. For a comparable model check out the latest Horizon exercise bikes at the official company store.

The Livestrong LS7.0B recumbent bike has a step-through frame for easy mounting and dismounting, and a wide, contoured padded seat with a high back for lumbar support.

Next to the seat are pulse grips on the handlebar for heart rate monitoring, and on the console is an audio-in jack to plug in your CD/MP3 player, and audio-out jack for headphones, magazine holder, and more.

Livestrong LS7.0B Console

Users have the option to access exclusive new Lance Armstrong-endorsed training programs and track their personal workout data on Livestrong.com using the included USB device and the LIVETRACK interactive feature.

To use this feature, simple plug in the USB device to your home computer to transfer workout data to the website, as well as download programs.

Most of the recent exercise bike reviews stress the programs and entertainment systems, but they should mention that this affordable recumbent has a good belt drive system that should last for thousands of maintenance-free hours.

Other comments on the Livestrong LS7.0B include praise for the easy-operating lever to move the seat and lock into place for different size users, the silent operation, smooth pedaling motion, and very sturdy frame. The bike is simple to assemble in about 30 minutes.

Our Take

New for 2011, the Livestrong LS7.0B hasn’t been on the market long so we can’t remark as to its durability, but based on user comments, it is a well built recumbent that easily earns its Lance Armstrong endorsement. It is a value-priced model that can rival many higher-priced units.

In addition, a portion of every sale of the Livestrong LS7.0B recumbent bike goes to the Livestrong Foundation to support cancer patients. For outstanding quality and features, this $699 recumbent rates a Good Buy.
